For Immediate Release: March 12, 2014 TallGrass Kicks-Off April Earth Month with Cut-a-thon Proceeds benefit Western Resource Advocates EVERGREEN CO - TallGrass Aveda Spa and Salon, in Evergreen, hosts a Cut-a-thon event on the first Monday of April to kick-off its annual Earth Month fundraising and awareness campaign, with all haircut proceeds benefiting Western Resource Advocates, a non-profit that works to protect the West's air, land and water. "Care for the world that we live in and, in particular, water conservation is at the heart of the Aveda Corporation's mission to set an example for environmental leadership," says TallGrass owner Gail Ridings. "As an Aveda spa, we endorse their philosophy and we ramp up our own activities in support of a clean environment each year during Earth Month." On Monday, April 7, a day when the spa would normally be closed to guests for routine monthly housekeeping, TallGrass stylists are opening the hair salon and volunteering their time for $1-a-minute haircuts. It won't be a typical day at the spa. No other services will be available and the Great Room will not be accessible. Only haircut services will be offered along with a few festive touches planned to surprise salon guests. TallGrass' association with Western Resource Advocates is longstanding. Each April, the spa invites a WRA representative to speak at its all-staff meeting, coordinates a 3K Walk for Water that starts at Evergreen Lake and winds its way through the community, and encourages each spa department to host its own fundraiser which, like the Cut-a-thon, raises money in support of clean water.
