Family of Choice

My friend, Kimra, taught me an interesting concept several years ago. She called it “Family of Choice.”  For some lucky people (and I’m one of them) their biological family is wonderfully close, caring, loving and supportive. Others, however, aren’t so lucky. While they certainly love their family as a whole, given the option they might not have chosen a few of the members. And, that’s the logic behind this different concept of kinship when dear friends form a "Family of Choice."

Since my own family is not nearby in Colorado, my local FOC is incredibly important to me. And, while my blood relatives, especially my sweet Dad, are always close in my heart, it’s my friends and my husband -- here with me day-in-and-day-out -- who make my life complete. When one of us needs help or support our “Family” is right there, taking care of each other. I’ve had the honor to witness this outpouring of love in a variety of ways and it’s always inspiring!

So, if you are feeling a bit lacking in the biological family department, I encourage you to create your own “Family of Choice.” Everyone deserves loving support!

are finally in a position to let other women in on the “secrets” of career and financial success. So many of us have to reinvent the wheel at work and with our finances. Until we learn to play like men at work and with our finances we will never reach our true potential. I just wish these two books were around when I was starting out–I could have avoided a lot of costly career and financial missteps. There is sage wisdom in both books! infinity auto insurance car insureance

Today's comment on Editor's news:All that haeppns in politics and management Editors have to do their job of digging and in the process they dig themselves also with a conscience sometimes that they do not report because they are on the job and have to present themselves logical at times illogically, nothing wrong in a reactionary democracy that is a little different from democracy that does not offer revolution and accepts involution through the media for its people for the government preventing reaction that retards government functioning under the unhealthy game of power that divides peoples thinking based on the bad practices of politics termed cut throat for the top executive and its team on governance with a plan?Ravi.

The thing about Lizzie is that she spouts facts and fiegrus and talks a mile a minute which makes everyone think she must know what she is talking about. I wonder, has anyone ever checked, or do they just tolerate her without knowing what lies she is spouting.

Thank you for voicing the same concnres that have been plaguing me since the first debate. For someone who speaks to raising the level of debate in the House, this woman displayed the most rabble-rousing rhetoric of all the candidates, in both the debate
Thank you for voicing the same concnres that have been plaguing me since the first debate. For someone who speaks to raising the level of debate in the House, this woman displayed the most rabble-rousing rhetoric of all the candidates, in both the debates. Her snide, snippy, fraudulent remarks served only to enforce my belief that she should immediately be turfed out as head of the Green Party. What a disgusting examle she has set for other women who seek to run in a political party.
