Message from Gail Ridings, TallGrass Owner

This is Boldijarre Koronczay with me at last week's International Spa Association conference. Boldijarre and his brother, Atilla, are founders of Eminence, the organic skin care line that we are now featuring at TallGrass along with Aveda. Boldijarre is an esthetician and an amazing businessman, but what fascinated me, while getting to know him, was his over-the-top charisma and sense of humor. Eminence, like Aveda, gives back to the world in many ways which is part of why we chose to partner with them. Boldijarre won I-SPA's Visionary of the Year Award and, with his terrific sense of humor, kept everyone laughing for the entire 4-day event. He inspired me to not only continue working hard on my business and continue with our philanthropy efforts but also to do it with a sense of joy and FUN!

I'm so excited for three incredibly fun events coming up in November: Our Soldier Box packing day, the week of celebrating women in the military, and our 20th Anniversary Holiday Shopping Spree party! TallGrass mascots Pepper and Nutmeg get ready for Nov 6

The TallGrass celebration of military women (and men, too!) continues as we get set to pack the holiday shipment of 100 Soldier Boxes on Nov 6 and entertain distinguished military women guests at the spa for lunch and complimentary services. Also on the 6th, four military women who were selected from among the vets we met at the Women Veterans of Colorado conference in September will be at the spa for their extreme makeovers.

During the week of Nov 9, we'll be giving away complimentary spa services, valued at $100 each, to 50 military women. And, we still have a couple of slots open. So, if you know a military woman - active, reservist, veteran - who is available Nov 9-13, ask her to give us a call at 303-670-4444. It's easy to sign-up.

And, later in the month, we will be providing personal care items for the 25th annual Denver Standdown for homeless veterans which is modeled after a concept used during the Vietnam War to provide a safe retreat for units returning from combat. Once a year, the Denver Standdown brings hot meals, haircuts, clothes, necessities and access to services for homeless veterans to one accessible location at the Denver National Guard Armory.

During the past few months, we have been in a whirlwind of activity as we celebrate TallGrass' 20th year in business by honoring the military. It's been a golden opportunity to connect with our community as folks pitch in to get involved according to their skills and resources - knitting hats, folding pocket flags, writing cards and sending checks for Soldier Box postage. We have been amazed - and gratified - at the seemingly limitless support for our troops.
