Message from Gail Ridings, TallGrass Owner
One of my dearest friends in the world, Shelly DeWit, passed away on December 5 last year. She was an amazing person who cared so much for her family, friends and others less fortunate. In her honor, a few of us are bringing and serving breakfast to the people at Denver's Ronald McDonald House. I'm thrilled to be able to commemorate her by serving others as she so often did.
Then, on December 12, we are stuffing boxes full of toiletries and Christmas cards to send to our soldiers serving in Afghanistan. Thanks to all of you who wrote cards and contributed money and supplies. It's so appreciated by our troops especially during the holidays. And last, but certainly not least, many of our TallGrass family are participating in Mountain Resource Center's Children's Holiday Party for families in need in our mountain communities. It's a great day with the excitement
of Santa arriving on a fire engine, enjoying homemade holiday treats, singing carols and giving the kids giant-sized stockings filled with toys. What a huge privilege for us to be part of the festivities!
These are the days that I most enjoy during the holidays. Don't get me wrong. I love celebrating with my family, friends, the TallGrass staff and our spa guests, but these special moments of giving back -- when I am so blessed myself -- infuse me with the spirit of Christmas.
We send you and yours our best wishes for the very merriest of holidays. We hope you plan to share yourself with us during this magical season. Ho! Ho! Ho!
