I've never been a big sports fan -- or participant – I'm pretty uncoordinated. But, the summer Olympics have captivated me!
Watching the athletes compete in so many incredible events is a wonderful distraction from the troubling events of the world. There is much to worry about. But, it's such a welcome relief to focus on the inspiring stories of the Olympians.
From the opening ceremonies with the tiny delegations from countries like Haiti (experiencing heartbreaking decades of strife) to Ukraine (in the midst of war) and some countries with just three athletes, countries so small I've never heard of them. How proud their citizens must be to have their people competing as equals on such a huge stage.
There are so many inspiring stories of dedication, sacrifice, hard work, and triumph over challenges! I tear up watching every night. When I may whine that it's REALLY HOT outside and I'm super tired or my back aches, I think of what these people have endured and I'm humbled. Inspiring acts reset my thinking to gratitude and perspective. They encourage me to try to be more inspiring myself and look to others instead of my constant focus on ME!
Thinking about Olympic feats, closer to home, the increasingly dry weather and numerous fires have caused me to practice loading my miniature horse Flicka, my new cow Okie Doke, and my six goats into a big trailer. That's an Olympic sport in itself!! 😊
Our mission statement at TallGrass is simply "to Awe and Inspire." We strive daily to do that for you and for each other. We try to give that little extra touch that may help someone feel comforted and lifted. We are no Olympians for sure, but our dedication is similar, and we care deeply!
I hope you are finding ways to be inspired and to inspire others. It creates such joy!
P.S. If you visited us in July, you may have noticed a new $6 Facilities and Environment fee on your service ticket. First, thank you for your grace in receiving this. We love our guests and our community and are filled with gratitude for both. As a small, local company we must navigate the rising costs of doing business. I assure you we thought long and hard about this choice. It was not an easy decision. We hope that you delight in the uniquely awe-inspiring experience you find at
TallGrass, and we look forward to exceeding your expectations with every visit. If you have any questions or would like to talk about the fee, please reach out. I am always happy to hear from you.
