February 2024
I am aware that Valentine's Day has some origins in history, but to me it seems that the universe is tossing us a bone to get us through the cold, dark, dreary challenges of this month.
You can't miss the pink and red -- candy, décor, greeting cards, flowers -- brimming in stores, as we are prodded to focus on celebrating love. Okay, yes, it's pretty commercial, but not a bad thing to push us towards. So, with that in mind we are returning to our employee-driven "love month" to help us reconnect and find joy and appreciation for each other during the dead of winter. Similar to a Secret Santa, we pick someone's name out of a hat and during the month of February we
surprise them with little gifts (nothing expensive) and notes of cheer and love, all without disclosing who the giver is. A piece of candy in their mailbox, a note in the area where they work, a heart on their windshield.
I know firsthand that it can really turn the day around – refocusing me on the fact that I'm not alone and that someone cares. I encourage you to consider doing the same thing in your workplace or even in your family. And, if you work and/or live alone, there are all sorts of ways you can do the same thing for strangers. It will not only gift the receiver, but it will change the way you look at the day, especially when it's a bit dreary.
I send best wishes of affection and care to you. May you feel comforted knowing that you are celebrated during this Valentine's Month of Love!
P.S. Good News! Beginning in February, we're making changes to give you more opportunities to fill an open spot when someone can't make their appointment. That means changing our cancellation policy to now require a 48-hour notice, updating our schedule for text reminders about upcoming appointments to two weeks in advance, and sending confirmations via email or text four days before your appointment. Now there'll be more times available to ensure that you can visit us, so we're looking
forward to seeing you at the spa soon!
