July 2021
During these past few weeks, I've been unusually hard on myself.
I've been going through a period of self-bashing – everything from "I'm not eating well" to "I should work more in my garden" to "I was impatient with the nice woman at the store." On and on and on. What's up with me only seeing my weak points? If you've felt this way once or twice or even more, let's all try our best to STOP IT!!!
Yes, we should always aim for improving ourselves, but it's certainly not helpful to constantly beat ourselves up. A refocus away from being such hard taskmasters is in order. We wouldn't do it to another person. Why do it to ourselves???
So, join me in taking a deep breath and thinking of three things that we all do well.
As far as something we do well here at TallGrass, our philanthropy projects make us proud. Take our Dog Wash benefit for Evergreen Animal Protective League. This year, it's on Saturday, July 31, from 10 to 3, at Ambary Gardens CBD center in Kittredge, a new location because parking in downtown Evergreen has become too crowded on weekends. There's more info to come and, in the meantime, mark your calendars to join us for a fun day of music, refreshments, and dog washing by our volunteers. $20
per dog goes directly to EAPL and there will be dog adoption opportunities, too.
I guarantee this event will lift anyone's spirit out of self-doubt and into unbounded JOY!!!
