Message from Gail Sharp May 2020
Happy May! It's a beautiful month in so many ways!
Spring is fresh and green and young and new. It's wonderful to get outside and enjoy the sounds of the birds, the frogs croaking (actually, it's more like purreaking) on my pond, and the smell of the woods and the grass and earth. Thank goodness that, just when we are exhausted from the overwhelming onslaught of pandemic information, we are able to find relief outside at this time of year. How much worse it all would seem if the days were dark and gray and cold.
As the owner of a small business that has been closed since March 18 with no reopening date in sight, I deeply feel the fear and anguish of our 65 TallGrass team members. I miss them – and you, too. Our interactions of caring and connection have been put on hold. It sucks.
But, as always, I return to feelings of gratitude. First, to all the frontline workers who are out there helping others every day as I sit safely (mostly) in my house on my little ranch with my critters. And then, to all our leaders who are in the incredibly difficult role of determining how to handle this crisis. I do not envy them. And, I'm grateful I can choose to focus on the good that is happening around me because there is still a lot of it out there.
Please know this: you remain in my thoughts and prayers during this historic time. I look forward to the day when we rise and move forward. It won't ever be exactly the same as before, but I have great faith that it will be wonderful again.
God bless you.
