TallGrass is a place where you can get away from stress, worry, and the fast pace of everyday life. We hope you think of our spa as a sanctuary to relax and rejuvenate.
With that said, my topic below is not one that will make you calm. In fact, in my opinion, it's just about the worst thing that happens in our world. So please stop reading now if you'd like to maintain that TallGrass serenity. We certainly never want to add to your stress.
I recently attended a talk by Dr. Jeff Brodsky about his organization, JOY International. Started in Conifer in 1981, JOY is devoted to the rescue, restoration, reintegration, and prevention of the commercial sexual exploitation of children forced into the child sex trade. Two million children are exploited every year in this horrific industry. It's happening all over the world including right here in Colorado!
If you want to learn more about this issue, Dr. Brodsky is speaking at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, after our offsite staff meeting. Please come to Willow Ridge Manor (4903 Willow Springs Rd, Morrison) to hear Dr. Brodsky and learn why he's been barefoot in solidarity with these tortured children for over eight years.
If you can't come, perhaps you'd like to join me and TallGrass staff members on June 22 for the Barefoot Mile Fundraiser. We're entering a team TallGrass Twinkletoes and we invite you to walk with us or contribute by sponsoring our team. Our goal is $1,000.
We always appreciate your contributions and participation in our various non-profit events. Here's what's coming up this summer: We will be packing Mother's and Father's Day soldier boxes early this month to send to our troops overseas and our dog wash to benefit EAPL is scheduled for July 21.
Giving back and caring for the world is a huge part of our culture at TallGrass. Your visits to our spa help us do just that. We are so grateful for you!
