Message from Gail Sharp, TallGrass Owner

This will be my first Christmas without having my Dad in my life. I miss him and I believe he is at peace now. I'm grateful for that. I'm also grateful for growing up in a loving family and for all the wonderful holidays we shared.

I give thanks for my friends — they're my family of choice — who surround me, especially during this poignant month. The holidays bring so much joy, but they can also intensify feelings of loneliness and lack.

My heart goes out to the men and women in our military who are away from friends and family. We are honored to be able to send Soldier Box care packages to those in harm's way at this time of year. Thanks to all of you who have supported this important project. And speaking of giving, I'm sure you've heard about Colorado Gives Day, December 6. It's an easy way to support the nonprofits that make our communities better, kinder places to live. Personally, I will be donating to several worthy organizations, most notably Evergreen's Mount Evans Home Health and Hospice. A hospice helped my Dad and our family during his transition this past summer. Many people cannot afford this kind of help but thank heaven for Mount Evans because it supports everyone, paid or not.

I hope you share your own gratitude, joy, and love with everyone you touch this month. Thank you for your friendship and support during this past year. YOU are at the top of our list of blessings. Happy Holidays!
